According to official materials published by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Nigeria has established a framework for use of the lower 6 GHz band (5925 – 6425 MHz) for Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) applications. This is an important development for manufacturers of smartphones, routers, laptops, and other connected products that support Wi-Fi 6E.
The NCC’s Licensing Documents & Frameworks page now lists the “Framework for the Use of the Lower Parts of the 6 GHz Band (5925 – 6425 MHz),” and the Commission’s broader spectrum roadmap also references completion of 6 GHz usage guidelines.
