On 1 July 2026, the Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) of India announced that the relaxation measures for certain telecommunications equipment test items would be extended until 31 December 2026.
The key updates are as follows:
- Acceptance of ILAC Reports
For 5G base stations, SIM cards, and VHF/UHF systems, TEC will continue to accept ILAC test reports issued by laboratories located in non-bordering countries, provided that the reports are no more than two years old. - Extension of Test Item Exemptions
The general exemptions for certain technical parameters applicable to Mobile Radio Trunking Systems, cellular repeaters, and DSL interfaces will remain valid. - Exemptions for PON Equipment
PON equipment will continue to be exempt from protocol testing. In addition, applicants may submit a Self-Declaration of Conformity for laser shutdown and power shutdown test items.
