The Ministry of Electronics and information Technology (MeitY) of India published a notification on May 5, 2026, announcing the inclusion of Standalone Hard Disk Drives in BIS’s Scheme-II Compulsory Registration Scheme. These devices must now comply with IS 13252: Part 1: 2010.
