On May 31, 2026, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) of Vietnam issued Circular No. 27/2026/TT-BKHCN and Circular No. 29/2026/TT-BKHCN, introducing updates to digital television broadcasting and mobile communication spectrum planning. These changes aim to improve spectrum utilization efficiency and support the continued development of next-generation mobile communication technologies.

This Circular revises the frequency planning for the 470-694 MHz band used for terrestrial digital television services. Relevant organizations are required to complete frequency migration by December 31, 2028.
In addition, if the 606-694 MHz band is officially reallocated for mobile communication services in the future, television broadcasters must migrate to compliant frequency bands within six months of receiving notification from the competent authority.
- Circular No. 29/2026/TT-BKHCN
This Circular confirms that, effective September 16, 2026, the 880-915 MHz and 925-960 MHz bands will be primarily allocated for Advanced Mobile Telecommunications (AMT) systems, including 4G and 5G services.
At the same time, existing 3G (IMT-2000) networks operating within these frequency bands must be phased out by September 14, 2028.
