On 16 April 2026, the Indian Department of Telecommunications published a notification, which announces the adoption of revised technical standards for various telecommunication equipment.
The notification lists 2 specific revised standards, categorized by their Generic Requirements (GR) or Test Guides:
- TEC 40162602 Standard for Essential Requirements – SIM;
- TEC 34732602 Standard for Essential Requirements – IP Security Equipment
The current and revised standards will both remain in force for 90 days. Starting July 15, 2026, only the revised standards will be in force.
