[India] Compliance Requirements for Enabling 5925-6425 MHz Band under Revised Regulatory Framework from DoT

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) of India issued a notification on March 6, 2026, on the Compliance Requirements for Enabling 5925-6425 MHz Band under the Revised Regulatory Framework.

The notification informs stakeholders who have valid ETA certificates for devices that are able to operate in the 5925-6425 MHz band but only certified for operation in the 2.4-2.4835 GHz and/or 5 GHz bands of the mandatory steps that need to be taken to enable the 5925-6425 MHz band.

The mandatory steps must be completed by April 5, 2026.

The 5925-6425 MHz band must not be enabled, activated, or put into use unless a new ETA certificate authorization the band has been granted.

Please be advised that the 5925-6425 MHz (Wi-Fi 6E) band cannot be enabled simply through update certificate.

Under the current regulatory framework, stakeholders are required to revoke the existing ETA certificate and submit a new application for an ETA certificate that explicitly covers the 6E frequency band.
