The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) announced the first stage of the USB Type-C port requirement will begin on January 1, 2026 for certain devices, and the second stage will begin April 1, 2026, for portable computers.
All importers of the products listed above should verify the requirements of standards SASO IEC 62680-1-2:2023 and SASO IEC 62680-1-3:2023 for all new IECEE certificate applications.
Valid certificates must provide a test report issued by an accredited lab and provide SASO a test report prior to January 1, 2026 to avoid certificate suspension.
