The Chilean Undersecretariat of Telecommunications (SUBTEL) issued Exempt Resolution No. 737 (Res. 737 EXENTA/2025) on May 22, 2025. Subsequently, on November 17, 2025, SUBTEL published Exempt Resolution No. 2,219, with the key points summarized as follows:
For equipment approved before February 22, 2026, a QR code linking to the certificate may temporarily replace the requirement to provide full documentation and reports. However, manufacturers of already approved equipment must prepare compliant QR code content by February 22, 2026. After this date, even if the product holds a valid SUBTEL certificate, it may be considered non-compliant if the QR code or compliant webpage is missing.
- QR Code Requirements During the Transition Period
The QR code link must provide technical information and the certificate of conformity on the linked webpage, and test reports are not required to be uploaded.
1.1 Existing models are not required to upload radio test reports on the QR-code-linked webpage.
1.2 However, the compliance webpage must include essential technical information, such as brand, model, frequency band, output power, and other parameters required by SUBTEL.
1.3 The webpage must also provide access to the existing SUBTEL Certificate of Conformity (CoC).
- Requirements for New Models After February 21, 2026
After this date, SUBTEL will no longer issue Certificates of Conformity, and manufacturers must provide the following:
2.1 A Declaration of Conformity (DoC) in compliance with Chilean regulations
2.2 A QR code (minimum size 1 cm × 1 cm) affixed to the product packaging
2.3 A Spanish-language compliance webpage containing product-related and technical information (technical specifications) and radio test reports
2.4 A local representative in Chile
