The Ministry of Science and ICT of Korea published Notice No. 2025-56 on November 5, 2025, which is the Technical Standards for charging and data transmission methods for broadcasting and communication equipment such as mobile and smart devices. This standard requires the equipment listed that charge by wire or simultaneously charge and transmit data by wire to be equipped with a USB Type-C receptable connector. MSIT will review the need and validity of this Notice every 3 years.
