The Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFETEL) in Mexico is still operating at present but is expected to be officially dissolved soon. The new Telecommunications and Broadcasting Law came into effect on July 16, 2025. On October 14, 2025, the President appointed five new members to form the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (Comisión Reguladora en Telecomunicaciones, CRT). The CRT is currently awaiting the President’s selection of one of these members as its Chairperson. Once the Chairperson is confirmed, the CRT will be formally established.
