The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) announced on September 4, 2025, that the technical code Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Equipment – Specifications (Second Revision) MCMC MTSFB TC T012:2025 had been approved and published. This updated code was officially published on June 26, 2025, and all LMR equipment that is submitted for certification must comply with the requirements outlined in this revision of the technical code. MCMC is granting a 6 month grace period, and the full implementation will begin on December 27, 2025. New and renewal applications submitted under the previous technical code during the grace period will be limited to a validity of 1 year. After December 27, 2025, all new submissions and renewals must comply with the revised technical code.
