The Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) has officially announced the launch of 5G Advanced technology in Kuwait, marking a significant milestone in the country’s digital transformation and a key step toward future 6G readiness.
Speaking to KUNA, Acting Chairman Sheikh Athbi Jaber Al-Sabah stated that the new technology offers speeds of up to 3 Gbps and low latency, representing a major leap forward in Kuwait’s telecom capabilities.
CITRA is actively collaborating with telecom operators to establish a supportive regulatory environment, encouraging both public and private sector investment in next-generation digital infrastructure.
With this move, Kuwait becomes one of the first countries worldwide to adopt 5G Advanced, reinforcing its leadership in emerging technologies and strengthening its role as a regional digital hub.
