[Serbia] RATEL Radio Frequency Band Allocation Plan Amendments in Force

The Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (RATEL) in Serbia announced on April 12, 2025, that the amendments made to the Radio Frequency Band Allocation Plan have entered into force.

The main updates in this revision include the following:

  1. Frequency Allocation Updates: In accordance with new international regulations and local communication needs, adjustments have been made to the allocation and usage of certain frequency bands. The main affected bands are: 694–790 MHz, 1452–1492 MHz, 2300–2400 MHz, 3400–3800 MHz, 24.25–27.5 GHz, and ISM bands.
  2. Alignment with International Standards: To harmonize with European communications regulations, the amendments refer to the recommendations of European regulatory bodies such as CEPT and ITU, ensuring that Serbia’s spectrum management aligns with European standards.
  3. Adjustment of Legal Terms and Definitions: Certain technical terms and definitions have been revised for clarity and modernization to reflect current technological developments.
  4. Technical Regulation Updates: Updates have been made to the technical requirements related to the use conditions of certain radio equipment, including interference protection standards.

Addition or Removal of Usage Classifications: Based on the latest needs, some frequency band usage categories have been added or removed. These may involve telecommunications operators, broadcasters, or military applications.
