On 29th January 2025, the Communications, Space & Technology Commission (CST) announced an important notice regarding new compliance process.
According to CST, the service platform for the compliance of communication devices will transit from the CST platform to the SABER platform, managed by SASO. The new compliance process will be divided into two main tracks:
Track 1: Applicable for products intended for consumer display, which include products made available in the market for end consumers under specific requirements.
Track 2: Applicable for products not intended for consumer display, which include products for private or industrial use and are subject to different compliance procedures.
The platform transition process has now been completed. From this point onward, the application process for CST certification projects will primarily be conducted through the SABER platform. Only eligible local importers or local manufacturers are allowed to register for login credentials on the SABER platform.
CST encourages all stakeholders to familiarize themselves with the SABER platform and its requirements to ensure readiness for the upcoming implementation of the regulation.
This update is based on the Technical Regulation for Communications and Information Technology Devices issued and published on 16th August 2024, due to the agreement between CST and SASO.
