On 10th February 2025, the Malaysia Regulator Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM) published an announcement SQASI/CMCS/1/25/0001, announcing the availability of testing laboratories for IPv6 (non-Wi-Fi-enabled) products.
As a result, the interim approval for IPv6 cellular equipment without a WiFi interface or IPv6 equipment over other mediums (e.g: fiber optic etc. except Ethernet LAN), currently in place, which ends on 10th July 2025, will not be extended. From 11th July 2025, a complete IPv6 test report, including for non-Wi-Fi-enabled products shall be submitted for full approval of 5 years’ validity.
For renewal of interim approvals, an IPv6 test report issued by designated laboratories must be submitted.
