The Telecommunications Regulation Commission (TRC) of The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan officially published a new Type Approval Regulation. Major changes to the Regulation include the following updates:
- The validity of certificates has been reduced from 3 years to 1 year.
- Labels must be affixed in one of the following locations:
- Physically and/or electronically on the product and/or the outer packaging
- In the user manual and/or device operating system
- Labels must include the Manufacturer Name, Brand, Model, Marketing Name (and IMEI for devices with a cellular module)
Exempted products include:
- Printers, Copiers, Monitors, Desktop Computers, and Wired and Wireless Cameras without high power radio functionality
- Short-Range Devices (SRDs) that only support Bluetooth Technology
- Satellite Television Receivers
- Wired Phones without radio communications module
The new Regulation will come into effect on September 15, 2024.
