Mexico’s Federal Telecommunications Institute (Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones, IFT) launched a public consultation on two regulatory amendments. The summary is as follows:
Homologation Guidelines:
- The IFT mark will be listed as a mandatory element on labels.
- The guidelines will include details on how to display both physical and electronic versions of the IFT mark.
IFT Mark:
- New options will be introduced for printing and digitalizing the IFT mark.
- The IFT mark’s vector file (AI format) will be available on the IFT’s electronic platform the day after the draft amendment is published in the Official Gazette (DOF).
The mandatory implementation date for the IFT mark will be postponed to March 31, 2025.
