[Mexico]Mexico IFT issues new label requirements

The recent publication from the Mexican telecommunications regulatory authority, IFT, has introduced new labeling regulations. The key points are excerpted as follows: Products certified after September 9, 2024, will be subject to the new regulations, while those certified by IFT before September 9, 2024, will not be affected by the new standards.

• Holders of Certificates of Homologation as well as importers and subsidiaries must include the IFT Seal in the marking or labeling of telecommunications or broadcasting devices.

• The IFT Seal must be printed in 100% black or 100% negative black, and must be easily visible and legible without the aid of magnification.

• Approved products must include the prefix “IFT” and the Certificate of Homologation number provided in addition to the IFT Seal.

• The use of the IFT Seal will not be mandatory for products that have been approved prior to the entry into force of the Guidelines.
