The Office of the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB) released a notification which signed by the Thai Labeling Committee on July 4, 2023, designating the personal computers and computer-related equipment as label-regulated products.Labels must including the information in Thai and/or Thai and other national languages, but this does not apply to the products which exported from Thailand to other countries. The notification becomes effective on November 1, 2023. The main points are as follows:
- • All personal computers and computer-related equipment must have labels, including text, images, logos, or graphics, and be in Thai or Thai with a foreign language.
- Labels should be clear and readable, containing the following information:
- The name or type of the product
- The registered trademark name of the manufacturer or importer
- For imported goods, the country of production should be indicated
- The address of the manufacturer or importer
- The size, weight, or volume of the product
- Detailed information about the product, including screen size, CPU, GPU, primary memory (including ROM and RAM), secondary storage, operating system, etc
- Instructions for use, recommendations for use or storage
- Date of production
- Information on whether the product will continue to be developed and whether this may affect future production/discontinuation or parts supply
- The warranty period for quality assurance, the period for providing repair services or accessories, and the contact information for service centers (If there is no service center in Thailand, it should be indicated)
