The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) released a notification informing the industry that there will no longer be an extension of the concurrent use of IS 1293:2005 and IS 1293:2019 for Plugs and Socket-Outlets for Household and Similar Purposes. BIS previously extended the timeline for withdrawing IS 1293:2005, however as of October 23, 2023 the IS 1293:2005 version will be withdrawn and the IS 1293:2019 version will remain in force.
