The Office of the Ministry of Technology and Communications (MTC) of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR) issued Notification No. 0416 on July 21, 2023. This Notification will come into force on August 4, 2023. According to the new Notification, Test Labs must have the Accreditation Certificate ISO/IEC 17025. Type Approvals and DoCs issued prior to August 4, 2023 for Type 2 devices will have validity of 3 years. After August 4, 2023, Type Approvals and DoCs will have 1 year validity for Type 2 devices, and 3 year validity for Type 1 devices.
