The Federal Telecommunications Institute of Mexico (IFETEL) announced in a press release on February 16, 2023, that the 5,925 to 6,425 MHz frequency band in the 6 GHz range is now defined as an unlicensed frequency band, which means that the public can use this frequency band freely without the need for permission or authorization from IFT. However, products operating in the 6 GHz range still need to be verified through technical experts.
