The brief information on the amendments to the relevant inspection regulations of the BSMI products to be inspected is as follows:
1. The post-amendment inspection standards for listed commodities will be implemented from the date of announcement, and the pre-amendment inspection standards will cease to be applicable from January 1, 2024.
The inspection method, verification and registration conformity evaluation mode, certificate period and inspection rate of the listed products remain unchanged. However, the inspection method adopts the declaration of conformity. Those who have signed the declaration of conformity according to the pre-amended inspection standard before December 31, 2023 should re-sign the declaration of conformity according to the revised inspection standard before December 31, 2024. If the period is not completed, the original declaration of conformity will be invalid as of January 1, 2025.
V. From the announcement date, the processing methods for type approval and verification registration:
(1) Those who have obtained the certificate: The commodity type approval or verification registration certificate obtained according to the inspection standard before the revision can be used until the expiration of its validity period. If the main type of the certificate has not changed, the original inspection regulations can still be used within the validity period of the certificate. Apply for listing or approval.
(2) Certificate extension: The product type approval or verification registration certificate obtained in accordance with the pre-amendment inspection standards, which meets the extension requirements stipulated in the “Commodity Type Approval Management Regulations” or “Commodity Verification Registration Regulations”, on December 31, 2023. Previously, it was possible to apply for extension in accordance with the original inspection regulations. After the extension, the validity period of the certificate is 3 years, and it can be used until its validity period expires. Those who apply for extension to the Bureau from January 1, 2024 should provide the type that meets the revised inspection standards. The test report and technical documents should be re-applied to the Bureau.
(3) New applicants: before December 31, 2023, those who obtained the certificate according to the pre-amendment inspection standard, the certificate is valid for 3 years from the date of issuance, and can be used until the expiration of its validity period, according to the post-amendment inspection For those who obtain the certificate according to the standard, the validity period of the certificate is 3 years from the date of issuance of the certificate; for those who apply from January 1, 2024, the type test report and technical documents that meet the revised inspection standards should be submitted to the Bureau. The certificate is valid for 3 years from the date of issuance.
