TISI had announced the official regulations of “Particular Requirement about TISI /QR Code Marking” of TIS2217-2548 Secondary cells and batteries containing alkaline or other non-acid electrolytes on 21st December 2020.
Summary of the TISI /QR Code Marking as per below.
- It shall be displayed on battery and may display on packaging in addition.
- Location of TISI mark shall be on battery.
- TISI mark size shall be suitable and proportion to size of battery, and it should not be smaller than 3 mm with text height of standard number not less than 1.5 mm.
- QR code marking shall be displayed in the same area with TISI mark with size not less than 10 mm.
- Licensee (importer) need to login into QR code website to create QR code.
In case that QR code cannot be displayed on battery (e.g. battery size is too small or not possible to get scannable QR code printing on battery), it can be displayed on packaging together with TISI mark. However, in this case, TISI mark shall still be displayed on battery.
