[India] India announced to extend the order

Whereas in exercise of the powers conferred by clause 10(1)(p) of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 1986 (63 of 1986) and in pursuance of clause (fa) of the Rule 13 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 1987, the Central Government, had included twelve electronics and information technology products to the Schedule of the “Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012” vide S.O. 1236(E) published in Gazette of India on 01st April 2020. The date of coming into effect of this Order was 01st October, 2020. And, whereas, the issues involved have been discussed with the stakeholders for smooth implementation of the Order and whereas, the industry has sought more time for compliance of the Order, it is hereby notified that the date of implementation of the Order stands extended to 01st April 2021.

Further, in the schedule, the entry “Standalone LED Modules for General Lighting” against SI No. 45 of column (2) shall be substituted by “Independent LED Modules for General Lighting”
