On 19th June 2020 the Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) officially announced that the current voluntary safety standard for Portable Power Banks, TIS2879-2560, is now mandatory. This new announcement will come into force 150 days following the announcement date, which will be 16th November 2020. From this date, Safety Approval will be mandatory for all Portable Power Banks to be imported/sold in Thailand.
