Malaysia SIRIM announced that product that directly connected to an Internet service provider will need to obtain an IPv6 test report and submit for SIRIM. It will be enforced from 2020/July/10,
Target product as below :
- TERMINALS / HOSTS
- NETWORK ELEMENTS (NE)
- Network Security System (NSE) NETWORK SECURITY ELEMENTS (NSE)
However, products such as laptops, tablets, mobile phones, AIO, etc. that have WWAN function will also be classified as directly connected devices and need submit IPv6 test reports for SIRIM purpose.
* Products with SIM card function also need to obtain IPv6 test report.
This requirement is mainly for products that will be required to provide IPv6 test reports if they are released globally after July 10. This release does not refer to Malaysia alone. If the model has been listed in a country other than Malaysia before 7/10, a statement letter can be provided, and the relevant website and other relevant information must be attached to the SIRIM official when submitting the application. As evidence, it can be exempted from providing IPv6 test reports.
