The Indian Telegraph(Amendment) Rules, 2017,notified vide G.S.R. 1131(E) dated 5th September 2017, provides that all telecom equipment must undergo for mandatory testing and certification prior to its import, sale or use in country , The consideration of date of dispatch of telecom equipment from foreign port as date of import for MTCTE implementation purpose was under deliberation.
It has now been decided that dispatch of consignment of telecom equipment from foreign port shall be treated as date of import of respective consignment of telecom equipment for MTCTE purpose.
