Project Description
Introduction to IC Certification
IC is the abbreviation of Industry Canada, which is the abbreviation of Industry Canada. The IC stipulates the testing standards for analog and digital terminal equipment, and stipulates that wireless products sold in Canada must pass IC certification. Therefore, IC certification is a passport and prerequisite for wireless electronic products to enter the Canadian market.
According to the standards developed by the standard RSS-GEN and the standard ICES-003e, wireless products (such as mobile phones) must comply with the relevant EMC and RF limits and comply with the SAR requirements of RSS-102. Take the GSM850/1900 module or mobile phone with GPRS function as an example. The EMC test has RE radiation disturbance and CE conducted disturbance test. In the SAR evaluation, if the actual use distance of the wireless module is more than 20cm, the radiation safety situation can be evaluated in a manner similar to the MPE defined in the FCC according to relevant regulations.
As a government agency, it stipulates the testing standards for analog and digital terminal equipment, and is responsible for the certification of electronic and electrical products entering the Canadian market, and stipulates EMC certification for imported electronic products. Its products are generally broadcast television equipment, information technology equipment, radio equipment, telecommunications equipment, engineering medical equipment, etc. Similar to the US FCC, IC currently only limits electromagnetic interference.
IC standard
The IC certification standard is basically the same as the FCC. The IC currently only mandatory for EMI test items .
ICES-001: Industrial, Scientific and Medical Radio Frequency Generators
ICES-003: Interference-CausingEquipmentStandards-DigitalApparatus
Such as ICES003: ITE: products and computer peripheral office equipment, etc., ICRSSSeries low-power radio frequency products. Such as: RSS210, Applicable products: wireless mouse and keyboard, wireless remote control toys and various low-power radio frequency products, CS03 (Telecom Terminal Product PSTN) by the Canadian FCB, equivalent to the US TCB, issued IC certificate, can also send IC ID, generally when you do CE, FCC directly to IC, VCCI, MIC, BSMI certificate. CSA and cUL are Canadian safety and IC is electromagnetic compatible.
IC (IndustrialCana da): The Canadian Ministry of Industry’s certification requirements for electrical and electronic products EMC, Telecom wireless products, communications products and other aspects.
CSA: One of Canada’s safety certification marks.
IC technical requirements
Similar to the US FCC, the IC currently only mandatory EMI . General regulations: Only EMI is mandatory, and the authentication method is the same as FCC. There are three ways:
1. Self-verification
2. Certificate of compliance
3. Certificate certification
ICID: CN (Company Number, up to 6 digits) + UPW (UniqLle Product Number, up to 8 digits) is free to apply, but must have Canadian representative address information. Its products are roughly divided into:
1. Radio and television equipment (NTEK)
2. Information Technology Equipment (NTEK)
3. Radio equipment (NTEK)
4. Telecommunications equipment (NTEK)
5. Engineering and medical equipment.
Factory inspection
No factory inspection required
Certification notice
Wireless products do ICs need to apply for IC (ID) number wireless IC certification. If the customer does not file for the IC, the time is 5 working days longer than usual, because each case usually takes one week;
Certification data
1. Product specification
2. Circuit diagram, PCB diagram
Certification process
1. Submit samples, application forms and related materials
2. Arrange the test
3. The test does not know the customer rectification, the test is issued by writing a report.
4. Receive a certificate report with the last payment
